''The Philosophy of Aristotle''

The Congress is organized on the occasion of 2400 years since the birth of Aristotle by The International Association of Greek Philosophy, The Greek Philosophical Society and the Philosophical Society of Cyprus, under the Auspices of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies (FISP). The Congress will be taking place in Athens, where Aristotle lived most of his life. He studied and taught at Plato’s Academy for nearly 20 years and later he founded the Lyceum where he taught and composed many of his great works. Recent archaeological surveys and excavations have brought to light the Lyceum – the site which will be the heart and inspiration for the Congress.

The 31 themes of the Congress are listed in the Circular. The Congress on The Philosophy of Aristotle extends its heartfelt welcome to old and young philosophizing thinkers and researchers, to those with an established intellectual presence and to developing intellectuals who aspire to contribute to a better future for humankind.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee we invite you to participate actively in the World Congress on The Philosophy of Aristotle, which is going to be held in Athens Greece in July 2016.

The Organizing Committee of the Congress is determined to continue the outstanding tradition of the previous Conferences and Congresses organized by the International Association of Greek Philosophy and the Greek Philosophical Society. The Congress is also unique in that the very city in which it is to occur (Athens) beckons all philosophizing persons with inspiring echoes from its past. We invite you to come to Athens in whose Ancient Agora and other places, Socrates, Diogenes, and so many others spent their time, where you can walk and discourse at the site of Aristotle’s Lyceum and Plato’s Academy and be within the environs of Epicurus’ Garden, Zeno’s Stoa, the haunts of Proclus and others whose intellectual works contributed to the cultural and philosophical heritage of humanity.

Με την ευκαιρία των 2400 ετών από τη γέννηση του Αριστοτέλη, η Διεθνής Εταιρεία Ελληνικής Φιλοσοφίας, η Ελληνική Φιλοσοφική Εταιρεία, η Φιλοσοφική Εταιρεία της Κύπρου και άλλες Επιστημονικές Ενώσεις, Εταιρείες και Εκπαιδευτικά Ιδρύματα αποφάσισαν την οργάνωση Παγκοσμίου Συνεδρίου Φιλοσοφίας υπό την Αιγίδα της Διεθνούς Ομοσπονδίας Φιλοσοφικών Εταιρειών (International Federation of Philosophical Societies (FISP)) με θέμα:

«Η φιλοσοφία του Αριστοτέλη».

Το Συνέδριο αυτό θα διεξαχθεί στην Αθήνα, όπου ο Αριστοτέλης έζησε το μεγαλύτερο μέρος του βίου του, μαθήτευσε επί μακρόν και δίδαξε στην Ακαδημία του Πλάτωνα, ίδρυσε το Λύκειο, δίδαξε εκεί και μεγαλούργησε, και όπου οι αρχαιολογικές έρευνες και ανασκαφές έφεραν πρόσφατα στο φως το Λύκειον του Αριστοτέλους, που θα είναι το επίκεντρο του εν λόγω Συνεδρίου.
